FESTIVAL of Hope crowned it all up with Pastor Brian Houston of Hillsong Church Australia preachin. I love his sense of humour. Now, his preaching came from 2 Samuel 9; the story of David and Mephibosheth. He likened this meeting to how God welcomes us, when we have nothing on our own, lame, low self esteemed, from Lo-debar( not High-debar-lol), how He does not look at our weaknesses but welcomes as us sons and daughters, and fills our life with His benefits at the table. We bring nothing to the table, He brings security, providence, promotion, confidence, abundance etc because He loves us. Friends, he mentioned one thing which caught the attention of my heart. When Jesus Christ was dying He for the first time called the one He had always called Father, GOD. Why? So that now we who were relating so far from Him by calling Him God could call Him Father. Hebrews 4:14-16 says

Our Compassionate High Priest
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Point is dwell not on the former things for God has given us a new name, a new Spirit, a new heritage, a new inheritance. We are no longer called servants, we are friends of God. We are sons and daughters! I pray you are blessed.
