End of BASIC Sem...

Well, as Ronnie said in the previous blog post, the semester for BASIC has come to an end and guys are now getting ready for exams and stuff... ok, that's the matures... yeah. I must say this sem has been amazing in so many ways, its been a time for growth for so many people and as always, God has been faithful.

The last fellowship, on Tuesday 18th November, was an evaluation fellowship, and a time of sharing God's goodness to each individual personally. Guys talked about the whole proggie and other stuff we've been doing as a family. We had most of the guys share their favourite proggie... and of course it was different for everyone. Some thought the best was the lock-in, others porkaty, and others, the day out... Don't know what you guys think.

This sem, at campus, we had something called the BASIC cellulars, for those who did not know, and we would have three people in a cellular together for one week checking on each other and yeah, all that stuff... it was brought up coz the family had grown and we just wanted to keep that warmth and love flowing. Yeah. For most of the time that went well, though some guys were not too consistent with their groups and yeah. Well, at least for those who were, the feedback was they enjoyed their cellulars... mostly at least!!!

Well, i know its not about numbers and stuff but well, thing is the family has really grown. this sem, we had an average of about 12 people for fellowship every week, apart from about three times and uuuhhhh... yeah. generally God's been good.

However, we had planned to have an inreach to hostels on campus and an outreach to Margaret High School but we didn't have those. Somehow, that didn't work out... The outreach, basically the school programme was tight and inreach, guys foxed. But we believe we'll be able to do well next sem.

I just wanted to let you all know what's been happening on campus this sem so you don't have the excuse that no one said! uuuhhhh... yeah. Well, this is also a testimony of the Lord's goodness, that for all the time, He has been as faithful as He promised to be and always is.

Otherwise, may the Lord bless and take care of you guys.

Those who missed

As you may discover the sem is ending and so many events have occured this sem. So events flunked. In your own word how would you conclude this sem. Both those who mmissed some events and those who attended. HHHMMM. Have you benefited as a trio just like your father. Socially, spiritually and emotionally.
These are things to ponder as we continue with more.

dont forget Zziwa's wedding meetings on Wednesdays' are on and Susan wedding meeting are on Fridays' 5:30 and Sunday 5:00.

Brrrr Live on the Jesus side of life

Lock-In

A brief.

Venue: Ande's place in Bweyos.
Time: (scheduled)8pm-6pm
Attendance: 17. 9 guys, 8 ladies.
Description: A night in.

Although the lock in should have started at 8pm it started at about 11pm when all the expected guests had arrived. Part of the family reached earlier, at about 9pm. These were mainly off campusers who came straight from Ntinda to Bweyos. The other group, was mainly campusers. I was part of this group.

This group comprised some of the people who planned; Cathy, Water.A and Barbie and these people had the dime as well. This group left campus at about 10pm, having got the food and plates to be used. We could not leave earlier because our navigator was not with us.

This first Lock In gave me so much joy. I got to connect with newer Basics as well as reunite with long lost elders. For one, seeing Phillip brought such a joy to my heart. And then Resty, after such a long absence! With good news too...Peter had found her.

The food was cleverly delayed and we all looked forward to it. So when it came, it was just right.

Our host had been expecting us since 7pm and was so excited to have children of the most high in his crib! Andrew was a delightful host. We had DSTV, Scrabble, Snakes and Ladders, etc

My highlights were:

1. The crowd.
It is so joyful being with people who you care for and love and who do the same for you. The campusers, the off campusers, the engaged, the single.. Children of the Most High. I was at peace with these people.

2. The activities.
Introductions are always hard for people like me. Why? My social situation is never proper. So, cleverly telling family mbu I was waiting upon a sister is not easy especially when...hahaha
The mafia game in the morning was so exciting; the discussion about a Christian in a secular society was eye opening; the dancing( though I did not take part) was as exciting as ever; the discussion about BASIC was invigorating; the food was heavenly; and the personal time with people was lovely.

I was fed so well...wabula I ate...

But I guess the most wonderful thing was the people. God's children, my family. The presence of God was in the place and as we learnt new things, made deeper friends, the presence of God was quietly engendering all goodness that took place.

I thank all the guys who were involved in the planning. At the end of the day we can say it was a success. Glory be to God.

Thanks to everyone else who availed their time, most especially the guys who had to sacrifice their time more painfully than other such that they would be with family. I was blessed by everyone. Yes, everyone!

Unfortunately, no one carried a camera so we have words only.

Hope to have another one of these.

SAIL,
Big Bro.

Dinner 08

It has been long since I posted here, I have been down and sometimes net is inaccessible. Thank God for virtual base in the base!! Preparations are in gear for the forthcoming Basic Family Dinner and well what a year it has happened to be. There is something the Lord ignited and I can't seem to put a finger on it.God is in the business of establishing the Family and ALL GLORY AND HONOUR goes to Him.Am excited about the Dinner but have to keep in mind that what makes the Family is not the dinner, rather the small activities that take place throughout the whole Basic Year. And this one has been extremely wonderful : We officially welcomed the first batch of elders and they have big plans in mind. The programmes have been wonderful- from the Tuesday meetings to the Seminar to the birthdays and "porkaties" (Bill Gates' dictionary still doesn't click this word) and now to crown it all- the Dinner.
Many were single last year, many are still single....Hahahaha! Anyway, a number are progressing in the ranks.
But this year has been beautiful- we set out for gold and personally I think we are achieving gold.
Love, Big Bro.
