Lock-In

A brief.

Venue: Ande's place in Bweyos.
Time: (scheduled)8pm-6pm
Attendance: 17. 9 guys, 8 ladies.
Description: A night in.

Although the lock in should have started at 8pm it started at about 11pm when all the expected guests had arrived. Part of the family reached earlier, at about 9pm. These were mainly off campusers who came straight from Ntinda to Bweyos. The other group, was mainly campusers. I was part of this group.

This group comprised some of the people who planned; Cathy, Water.A and Barbie and these people had the dime as well. This group left campus at about 10pm, having got the food and plates to be used. We could not leave earlier because our navigator was not with us.

This first Lock In gave me so much joy. I got to connect with newer Basics as well as reunite with long lost elders. For one, seeing Phillip brought such a joy to my heart. And then Resty, after such a long absence! With good news too...Peter had found her.

The food was cleverly delayed and we all looked forward to it. So when it came, it was just right.

Our host had been expecting us since 7pm and was so excited to have children of the most high in his crib! Andrew was a delightful host. We had DSTV, Scrabble, Snakes and Ladders, etc

My highlights were:

1. The crowd.
It is so joyful being with people who you care for and love and who do the same for you. The campusers, the off campusers, the engaged, the single.. Children of the Most High. I was at peace with these people.

2. The activities.
Introductions are always hard for people like me. Why? My social situation is never proper. So, cleverly telling family mbu I was waiting upon a sister is not easy especially when...hahaha
The mafia game in the morning was so exciting; the discussion about a Christian in a secular society was eye opening; the dancing( though I did not take part) was as exciting as ever; the discussion about BASIC was invigorating; the food was heavenly; and the personal time with people was lovely.

I was fed so well...wabula I ate...

But I guess the most wonderful thing was the people. God's children, my family. The presence of God was in the place and as we learnt new things, made deeper friends, the presence of God was quietly engendering all goodness that took place.

I thank all the guys who were involved in the planning. At the end of the day we can say it was a success. Glory be to God.

Thanks to everyone else who availed their time, most especially the guys who had to sacrifice their time more painfully than other such that they would be with family. I was blessed by everyone. Yes, everyone!

Unfortunately, no one carried a camera so we have words only.

Hope to have another one of these.

SAIL,
Big Bro.
